Start with how you use the room
Tub, shower or both, who uses it, and how your household keeps running while the work gets done. If there's another bathroom, we plan which one goes first and how the other stays available.
Seems like the bathroom’s on your mind.
If it's the shower you use every day, the first thing we plan around is how your household keeps a working shower while the work is going on. Then everything that has to happen before the tile goes up.
Who this is for: full bathroom remodels and shower remodels. Shower-only projects are welcome.
For context: most full bathrooms we do land between $13,000 and $23,000. Prices include sales tax where it applies.

Does this sound familiar?
It's the bathroom you use every day.Maybe it's the only one in the house. If that shower is out of service, the whole household feels it, and you can't see how everyone gets ready in the morning.
Who comes first? The plumber, the tile setter, the glass company, maybe an electrician. They all need the room, there's only space for one at a time, and you're the one trying to keep them in order.
The part behind the tile.Where the valve goes. Where the niche goes. Whether there's backing for a grab bar. The waterproofing that keeps water where it belongs. Once the tile is up, you never see any of it again.
Quotes that don't match. One includes the glass, one doesn't. One mentions what goes behind the walls, one is just tile. You're not sure what you're actually comparing, so it keeps getting pushed back.
The real problem
In a bathroom, it's not the skill set. It's the scheduling. Miss one step in the order, and the room just sits.
A bathroom remodel isn't just about good installers. It's about getting the sequence right. Bathrooms are usually tight spaces, so you can't always have several people working in there at once, and certain things have to be finished before the next person can do their job.
In a customer's words
“I recently had my bathroom shower remodeled by Nick with Melbourne Beach Flooring, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the outcome! … Nick was exceptionally responsive, professional, and an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the entire project.”

How we run a bathroom
We've remodeled bathrooms on their own and as part of larger home remodels here in Brevard County. This is how we plan them.
Tub, shower or both, who uses it, and how your household keeps running while the work gets done. If there's another bathroom, we plan which one goes first and how the other stays available.
The valve, the niche, backing for a grab bar, and the waterproofing behind the tile. These get decided before the tile goes up, because afterward you can't move them.
Plumbing, then waterproofing, then tile, then the glass, fitted to the finished tile. Each trade comes in when the step before them is done, and you know who's coming, and when.
Some of what's behind your walls can't be known until the old tile comes off. We'll tell you up front which parts of the plan depend on it, and when something changes, we look at the sequence, move what we can, and tell you.
What you get
Why we plan it this way
I'm Nick Iles, one of the owners of Melbourne Beach Flooring & Kitchens. I remember one home we worked on where four people were living, and they had one working shower at a time.
But think about the alternative: four people trying to get ready in the morning, and nobody has a working shower. That's the kind of thing we want to think through before we start tearing anything apart.
"Not just a bathroom that looks great when it's finished. A clear plan for how we're going to get there."

What happens on the Fit Call
Nick calls you at the time you pick. We talk about what you're looking to change, how you use the room, what you're hoping to accomplish, and whether we're the right team to help.
It goes both ways. You see if we're right for you, and we see if we're right for your bathroom. If we're not, either of us can say so, and you'll still leave knowing your next step.
What people worry about
We only have one shower.
That's the right worry, and it's one of the first things we'd plan around, not an afterthought. How your household gets ready in the morning is part of the plan, right next to the tile and the fixtures.
We'll ask how many bathrooms you have, who uses them, and when each one needs to be working.
We'll walk through this on your Project Fit Call.
I'm worried about leaks.
So are we. Leaks usually start where you can't see them: the pan, the valve, the seams behind the tile. That's why what goes behind the tile is written into the scope, not just the tile you pick, and why the plumbing is sequenced so each step is ready before the next one covers it up.
We'll walk through this on your Project Fit Call.
How do I know the waterproofing is done right?
Waterproofing is the step nobody sees once the tile is up, which is exactly why it gets its own line in the written scope: what goes behind the walls and under the floor, and where it falls in the order. It isn't squeezed in between other trades.
We'll walk through this on your Project Fit Call.
I already have quotes.
Good. Bring them. If one includes the glass and another doesn't, or one covers what goes behind the walls and another is just tile, that's usually the first thing worth sorting out. Knowing what you're actually comparing is part of finding your next step.
We'll walk through this on your Project Fit Call.
What if you find something behind the walls?
Sometimes we will, especially in bathrooms. You don't always know what's back there until the old tile comes off. We won't pretend otherwise. We'll tell you up front which parts of the plan depend on it, and when something changes, we look at how it affects the rest of the job, adjust where we can, and keep you informed.
We'll walk through this on your Project Fit Call.

Questions people ask first
Not responsibly. A bathroom price depends on your house: what's behind the walls, whether the valve or drain is moving, and what you choose. That comes from planning, not a guess on a call.
Yes. We do full bathroom remodels and shower-only remodels. Tell us about the shower, and who uses it, on the call.
Not at all. It's a good starting point. Bring it to the call. Final selections and orders are confirmed against your actual space, including what has to go behind the tile.
When we build your project, independent trade partners that we schedule and coordinate, in sequence, so each step is ready for the next.
Nick, one of the owners. He calls you at the time you pick.
Then we'll say so, and you can too. The goal of the call is for you to leave knowing your next step, whether that's with us or not.
Please. If anyone else is part of the decision, bring them on the call.
